ARSENICUM ALBUM: Thin, watery, and burning fluid that excoriates or reddens the upper lip and nostril edges, often accompanied by frequent, violent sneezing without relief.
Throbbing, burning frontal sinus pain or supraorbital headaches that temporarily ease with warm applications or hot compresses.
Alternating light discharge with a feeling of severe blockage, making breathing through the nose difficult, especially at night.

CALCAREA CARBONICA: Indicated when chronic sinusitis is associated with nasal polyps, swollen turbinates, or enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Dull, heavy throbbing pressure over the forehead and root of the nose, often worse from mental exertion, cold air, or ascending stairs.

CINNABARIS: A sharp, pressive, or tight “heavy band” sensation extending directly across the bridge of the nose, often radiating into the eye sockets or surrounding Thick, stringy, yellowish-green mucus that constantly trickles down into the back of the throat, causing hawking, throat irritation, and dryness.

KALI BICHROMICUM: Thick, yellow-green, tough mucus that can be drawn out into long, sticky strings. Post-nasal drip feels heavy and clogs the throat. Intense, boring pain located in small, precise spotsโ€”frequently felt right at the root of the nose, the nasal bones, or over specific frontal sinuses (often relieved by heavy pressure).

MERCURIUS SOLUBILIS: Preferred when sinus inflammation advances to suppuration, producing raw mucous membranes, painful scabs, or blood-streaked mucus. Excessive salivation, especially at night during sleep (leaving wet patches on the pillow), alongside a moist, flabby, yellow-coated tongue showing teeth impressions.

PULSATILLA NIGRICANS: Thick, bland (non-excoriating), yellow or greenish mucus; often loose and fluid in the open air, but becoming dry and completely blocked in warm rooms or at night. Heavy, pressive pain over the frontal or maxillary sinuses, often accompanying frontal headaches that shift in location and severity. Characteristic absence of thirst even with a dry mouth, feverish feeling, or heavy mucosal congestion.

SEPIA: Thick, yellowish-green mucus, often forming hard, dry, offensive green crusts or scabs inside the nostrils that leave raw surfaces when blown out or removed. Thick, lump-like mucus dropping down into the pharynx, causing persistent throat clearing, hawking, and a sensation of a plug or fullness in the throat. Marked anosmia (loss of smell) or perverted smell (distorted perception of odors) accompanying long-standing sinus catarrh.

SULPHUR: Marked burning in the nostrils, nasal passages, and over the sinus regions, often accompanied by dryness, red mucosal margins, and itching inside the nose.Characteristically bright red nasal borders, lips, and eyelids, reflecting systemic inflammatory heat. Throbbing, pressive frontal headaches or a sensation of a tight band around the forehead, worse from standing or heat.

  • Adults: 15-20 drops in 1/4 th cup of water three times a day.
  • Acute condition: 15-20 drops every hourly till symptoms improve. Or as prescribed by the physician.
