ACONITUM NAPELLUS: Is indicated for the acute, initial stage of sciatica—particularly when the nerve pain comes on with sudden, intense violence following exposure to dry, cold winds or sudden cold weather drafts. The sciatic pain strikes abruptly without warning, rapidly escalating in severity within hours.

ARSENICUM ALBUM: Pains peak after midnight, driving the patient out of bed due to intense physical agony. pain feels like glowing coals along the path of the sciatic nerve, yet it is dramatically relieved by hot compresses, hot baths, or applied heat. Neuralgic, drawing, or tearing pains that shoot down the hip, thigh, and leg to the ankle, often following a periodic or recurring pattern.

COLOCYNTHIS: One of the most frequently prescribed remedies for acute sciatic pain, particularly affecting the left side. The sciatic pain worsens with motion, extension of the limb, or light touch, forcing the patient to draw the knee up tightly toward the abdomen or press firmly against the painful hip.

GNAPHALIUM POLYCEPHALUM: intense, sharp, shooting, or cutting pain along the path of the sciatic nerve that alternates with or gives way to profound numbness. Frequent, painful cramps in the calves and soles of the feet, especially at night in bed or when trying to extend the leg.

MAGNESIUM PHOSPHORICUM: Severe, darting, cutting, or boring pains that shoot down the nerve course (more frequently affecting the right side). Pain accompanied by severe muscle cramps in the calves, thighs, and feet, along with involuntary twitching or contraction of muscles. The pain is severely aggravated by exposure to cold air, cold water, uncovering the leg, or sudden movement.
